There is a popular military aphorism used by Douglas McArthur that “old soldiers never die, they just fade away”. But there is one retired general who has resisted from “fading”. Retired Army General Jovito Palparan continues his brutality despite retiring from military service.
A few months back, Palparan forcibly took over a seaport in Barangay Baluganon. The security guards said that around 6:30 a.m. they were surprised to see a group of uniformed men accost them shouting, “Dapa!”
Gen. Palparan led 50 personnel from the 24th Infantry Battalaion based in Nueva Ecija, along with members of the CIDG. “ in Filipino- they were all fully armed and even pointed their guns on us, so we couldn’t do anything. It was Gen. Palparan himself who addressed us, he even asked me what I was doing in Zambales, and told me I should leave this place,” recalled one guard.
Another security guard told The Manila Times that he had P36,000 in his wallet for the salary of his fellow security guards but the armed men took it away together with his wallet and cellphone. “They treated us roughly, even kicking our other companions while talking to them, and we were not supposed to look at them although someone was taking photographs of us (in Filipino),” he added.
This man, Jovito Palparan, should be a subject of higher psychological studies. His spiritual adviser is the the Jesuit inquisitor of communism, Fr. Archie Intengan. Remember that Edmond Paris exposed how the Jesuits persuaded ADOLF HITLER to go to war under which this Intengan is doing the very same statergy.
According to writer Eric San Juan, the priest engages in “Strategic Command Offensive” to build opinion against an intended target audience or individuals who are legitimately exercising their civil & political rights relative to the abuses and the corrupt practices being perpetuated by some government functionaries, by tagging them as Marxist-Leninist and therefore considered enemies of the State.
My dad, who was former President of the National Defense College of the Philippines until 2002, condemns all forms of extra-judicial killings! However, Father Intengan delivered in a paper before students of the National Defense College of the Philippines on July 26, 2006 and laid down his credential as a moral theologian saying:
“I shall approach the topic primarily from the viewpoint of moral theology or Catholic Christian ethics, which is one of my fields of professional training.”
“In a situation of insurgency, proportionate use of violence is ethically acceptable against combatants or those called “direct participants in hostilities,” whether regular military, paramilitary, or civilian, including those who are preparing for, or returning from combat operations,” he said.
Intengan employs extra-judicial killings under the current societal conditions, which he refers to as a “revolutionary condition.” The Jesuit priest continues his lectures at the National Defense College.
Now who should we pray to for safety?
